The Fortified Evangelical Church of Prejmer, surrounded by high walls, is one of the most famous evangelical churches in Romania and Eastern Europe.
The church is housed within the Prejmer Fortress.
The church's plan, shaped like a Greek cross, was altered between 1512 and 1515 by adding two unequal side naves and enlarging the main nave. In 1461, a tall bell tower was built above the cross.
