Dino Parc Râşnov, which opened in 2015, is not only the largest dinosaur park in South-Eastern Europe, but also a unique open-air museum in Romania.
The 3,5 hectare-sized park located on Cetăţii Street, next to the Râşnov Fortress, and it is home to 100 dinosaurs that are life-size replicas based on the most recent paleontological findings.
The park features playgrounds for kids, tree houses with science exhibits, a 9D and a 360° theater, adventure trails, a zip line, a laser maze, a soundbox, one-of-a-kind exhibitions, and additional interactive spaces in addition to the magnificent path with 100 dinosaurs. It is continually bringing new scientific national and worldwide exhibitions.
A replica of Hatzegopteryx thambema, the largest flying animal in the world that could circle the globe uninterrupted, as well as an actual meteorite that was discovered in Romania are both on display at Dino Parc Râșnov. Seismosaurus, a massive 45-meter-long sauropod that used to cause a tiny earthquake with every step, can also be found here.
A moving platform that mimics three different types of earthquakes—one produced by the movement of tectonic plates, one caused by a herd of rushing Seismosaurus, and one caused by a volcanic eruption—as well as an interactive volcano that simulates an eruption can be found in the park.
Additionally, you'll find five animatronic dinosaurs that create frightening noises, an augmented reality interactive window, and many additional engaging areas for both kids and adults.
Numerous exhibitions in the park are made in collaboration with the Grigore Antipa National Museum of Natural History, the University of Bucharest, the Romanian Geological Institute, the Szekler National Museum, the Brașov County History Museum, and international private partners. Dino Parc Râşnov is a partner and supporter of the paleontological community in Romania.
